Justin Lawrence Hoyt began his story in Ketchikan, Alaska (a small island town in SouthEast Alaska) in 1992. But, let’s jump ahead because I don’t want to write about everything.. That would be insane..

Justin started his film career at 19 years of age, though it took quite a while for him to figure out which direction he wanted to go. All the while, Justin pursued his passion of comedy - doing standup and improv. And while those are passions, he never took it professionally. Though he began to find his voice comically through those ventures, Justin took to writing and filming sketches. This all lead to him finding his way onto reality TV as a production assistant.

Let’s cut to recent years, where Justin is now working as a Field Producer on Reality TV. But his main focus is directing, writing, and developing scripted shows and web-series.

Now, Justin has become a rising star in the film production realm. He has an Emmy Nomination for Directing an Episode of “Matt and Megan and Mike Don’t Give a F**k about Speed… Dating”. Justin also won ‘Best Director’ in the Film Rant Film Festival of 2024 for his work on the Comedy Web-Series “Matt and Megan”.

Beyond just Directing, Justin Writes his own short films as well. His most recent, “The First Nightmare” won the Audience Choice Award at The 5-Day Film Royal in Anchorage, Alaska.

Justin is also battling stage four colon cancer, so.. Just let him have this as a victory.
